Over the weekend Andre 3000 was charged driving 109 mph is a 65 mph zone outside of Atlanta, GA early Saturday morning. He is currently out on bond of $1200 and awaiting a hearing on April 29th.

Police say that 3000, whose real name is Andre Benjamin and is part of the duo Outkast, says that he was speeding because he needed to turn around after missing an exit.

No official word has been given through Andre 3000’s publicist, and it is unclear at this time whether he has a criminal defense attorney.

Former 2 Live Crew Member Luther Campbell Arrested in Florida

Luther Campbell, a former member of 2 Live Crew, was arrested in Maimi-Dade County on Tuesday, on charges of contempt of court.  Campbell spent less than twenty-four hours behind bars before being released.

Charges come from Campbell owing the courts over $10,000.  Originally it was reported that the money was due to missed child support payments, but it is now unclear exactly what Campbell owes the money for.

Contestant from A Shot At Love 2 Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence

Chad Tulik, who was a former “contestant” on the Tila Tequila dating show A Shot At Love, has been arrested on domestic violence charges for allegedly beating up his girlfriend.

Tulik was arrested early Friday January 6th after cops were called in by neighbors who reported that a loud argument sounded like it was becoming physical. Cops arrived on the scene and entered the residence to find Tulik’s girlfriend with visible injuries.

Tulik was booked on multiple charges including felony assault, dissuading a witness and vandalism due to the allegation that he smashed his girlfriend’s iPhone when she tried to call the cops.

Tulik is currently being held, with a $50,000 bail.

Vinnie Jones Charged for Bar Fight Brawl in South Dakota

Last week, movie star and football (thats soccer to you yanks) player Vinnie Jones started a brawl in a South Dakota bar with two of the patrons.  Jones, who was intoxicated at the time of the fight, was waiting for a pool table being used by locals Juan Barrera and Jesse Bickett.  During the altercation, which was allegedly started by Jones, Jones was smashed in the face with a beer glass by Bickett.  Undeterred by the blood streaming from his face, Jones continued to beat the hell out of Barrera.

Think of any of the multiple scenes in a Guy Ritchie movie where Jones beats the hell out of some poor hooligan.  Now apply that image of the snarling and enraged Jones to the real world.

Currently, Jones has been charged with three counts of simple assault.  If Jones is found guilty of all three, he could face up to $2000 in fines and a year in jail.  There has been no word from Jones criminal defense representation or if the Barrera and Bickett plan to file a personal injury lawsuit.

Suge Knight Charged in Las Vegas for Possession and Battery

Back in August, Suge Knight was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, and during the arrest he was found to have two controlled substances, meth and hydrocodone, on his person.

This weekend, Knight was finally officially charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor for battery.

More to come on this, as lawyers from Clark County and for the defense start to make their initial statements.

Katt Williams Spent Thursday in Jail for Weapons Possession Charges

Katt Williams Arrested on Weapons Charges

After cops noticed three guns inside the cars of Katt Williams’ motorcade, Katt Williams was picked up on charges of weapons possession and spent most of Thursday in a New York City prison.

Williams posted a $25,000 bond with the Manhattan Criminal Court that night, and was only a half hour late to a concert at Carnegie Hall where a sold-out crowd awaited him.  Williams went on to reference the arrest during his show.

Mos Def Sought for Attack on Photographer at MAGIC

Mos Def Hates Him Some Paparazzi

Mos Def is currently being sought for questioning after he allegedly attacked a photographer during an event at the Men’s Apparel and Garment Industry Convention (MAGIC) in Las Vegas.

Def, whose real name is Dante Terrell Smith, faces charges of malicious destruction of private property and felony robbery after he reportedly took the camera from one of the official photographers at the event, smashed it on the ground, and then took the broken equipment.

The victim, Volker Corell, claims he also received a cut on his hand during the altercation.

A warrant is currently out for Mos Def’s arrest, though no prosecutors or criminal defense attorneys have stepped forward at this time with any comments.

80s Pop Star El Debarge Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance

Eighties pop singer El Debarge was arrested earlier this month for possession of a controlled substance, and is currently in jail without bail thanks in part to two other warrents for his arrest.

El Debarge, whose real life moniker is Patrick Eldra Debarge, was arrested last year as well on multiple charges including vandalism, drugs and domestic violence.

He will be back in court tomorrow.  We’ll just see where this leads.

Lyfe Jennings Arrested for Weapon Possession and Eluding Police

Reports are out that R & B singer Lyfe Jennings was arrested over the weekend on a number of charges in Georgia.  Police there say that they were responding to a call of weapons being fired, and when they arrived on the scene saw Jennings corvette leaving.  Jennings tried to elude police and gave chase before crashing.

Jennings now faces charges of felony weapon possession by a convicted felon (Jennings served a ten year stretch from ’92 – ’02 for arson) and faces charges of attempting to elude, discharging a firearm near a highway, and refusal to take a test for sobriety.  It has not been noted whether Jennings has an Atlanta criminal defense attorney representing him yet.

Yankees Pitcher Joba Chamberlain Strikes Out During DUI Test

Saturday night Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain was arrested for DUI when he was pulled over for speeding near his hometown of Lincoln, NE.

Chamberlain was booked for DUI, speeding and having an open container of alcohol in the car. Chamberlain has since made a boo-hoo apology for his “error in judgment.”
