Mos Def Sought for Attack on Photographer at MAGIC
Mos Def is currently being sought for questioning after he allegedly attacked a photographer during an event at the Men’s Apparel and Garment Industry Convention (MAGIC) in Las Vegas.
Def, whose real name is Dante Terrell Smith, faces charges of malicious destruction of private property and felony robbery after he reportedly took the camera from one of the official photographers at the event, smashed it on the ground, and then took the broken equipment.
The victim, Volker Corell, claims he also received a cut on his hand during the altercation.
A warrant is currently out for Mos Def’s arrest, though no prosecutors or criminal defense attorneys have stepped forward at this time with any comments.
50 Cent Gets a Final Ruling on His Child Custody Case
Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, was given a final ruling in his child custody case concerning his son Marquise. Jackson wanted two weekends a month with him, but has agreed to a judge’s awarding of one weekend. He will also receive one month during the summer and half of his winter and spring breaks during the school year.
Kanye West Out Of Jail and in Hawaii
After yesterday’s little scuffle at LAX, Kanye West is out on bail and at his final destination Hawaii.
West noted on his blog “We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!”
That’s some good wording right there.
Rapper Yung Berg Arrested in NYC on Weapon and Drug Charges
22-year old rapper Yung Berg (who previously went by the name Ice Berg, and whose very ungangsta real name is Christian Ward) was arrested in New York City over the weekend and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and menacing.
After a limo driver had a dispute with Berg and four of his buddies, he reported a complaint to the police. When police investigated, they found Berg and slapped him and his friends with the charges. It is unknown at this time if he has hired a New York City drug crimes lawyer for defense.
Yung Berg’s album “Look What You Made Me Do” hits shelves tomorrow, so these charges will probably do nothing but improve sales.
Rap Artist Gucci Mane Smacked with DUI and Possession
Rapper Gucci Mane, known on is birth certificate as Radric Davis, was pulled over on July 23rd in Atlanta when cops though he might be tokin’. The rapper was indeed toking, and cops found in the car “a small amount of marijuana and a gun.”
Gucci Mane was taken into Henry County Jail and was charged with DUI and pot possession. A few hours and a $3,300 bond later and he was out on bail.
